KV Teachers' Half-day Interaction
17th March 2018
Sh. Karunakar Upadhyay Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, P3, Greater Noida and his colleagues attended a A-View interaction with Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan representatives and IIT Bombay Mentors, Prof. Deepak B. Phatak & Prof. Kannan Moudgalya regarding online process of Admissions and Document Verification. This A-VIEW interaction was facilitated at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida on 17th March 2018. Dronacharya Group of Institutions is the Remote Center (RC 1316) of NMEICT programs of MHRD, Govt. of India, managed through IIT Bombay.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan admits students to first standard, in all of their 1250+ KVs across the country. Lakhs of parents upload the applications on a portal. The submitted documents are then downloaded and scrutinized by the teachers of concerned KVs, after which the admission process is carried out.
This year, upon request from KV Sangathan, IIT Bombay designed and operationalized the portal. Since many KV teachers were unable to use the features and functionality IIT Bombay had proposed a special half-day training session for the concerned teachers on 17 March 2018.
The A-VIEW interaction started at around 10 a.m. with the mentors from IIT Bombay who demonstrated to the participants the online open source software to be used for admissions. In the demonstration, all the features like filling of the students’ data, their categories, distance of the students’ homes from the schools, conduct of classes, managements of sections and attendance etc. were discussed.
More than 130 remote centers from across the country were connected in this interactive training with IIT Bombay.
