QEEE Session on
"Limit State Design of Reinforced Concrete Columns"
              7, 8 & 9 March 2018

QEEE session on Limit State Design of Reinforced Concrete Columns (Design of Reinforced RCC Structures) was conducted under D2S by Prof. Amit Shaw, IIT Kharagpur at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida through ICT. The sessions were coordinated by Mr. Pravendra Yadav, Assistant Professor-CE.  The sessions were conducted on 7th, 8th and 9th March 2018.
 Day 1: 07.03.2018
Prof. Amit Shaw delivered a lecture on the importance of concrete structures and basics of design of reinforced concrete structures through Limit State Method. During the lecture he covered the following sub-topics :
- Introduction
- Classification of columns
- Unsupported and effective length
- Assumptions in limit state design for comuns
- Design of axially loaded short column
Day 2 : 08.03.2018
Prof. Shaw discussed Design of Column with reference to:
- Axial load and uni-axial moment
- Derivation of basic equation
- Interaction diagram
SESSION - 3
09.03.2018
On the last day, Prof. Shaw covered Design of column with axial load and bi-axial moment.
To gauge the understanding of the students, one proctored quiz followed by an assignment was given to the students.
The session covered important elements of design of columns. The sessions helped the students in complete understanding of conceptual as well as practicalImplication of RCC.
