Two day workshop on "Introduction to Robotics"
6th & 7th October 2023
3 faculty members of ECE Department Prof. Sanghamitra V Arora, Mr. Sandeep Mishra and Mr. Anurag Upadhyay from Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended two day workshop on “Introduction to Robotics” on 6th- 7th October 2023 at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram. The trainers of the workshop were Mrs. Suprabha Jadhav and Ms. Ruchi Sharma from IIT Bombay.
Day 1 - 6th October, 2023
The inaugural day commenced with a registration process followed by an inauguration ceremony. Subsequently, green plants were distributed to the resource persons by Dr. Isha Malhotra, (Principal DCE). The event proceeded with a welcoming address delivered by Dr. R. Dheivanai, the coordinator of the e-yantra lab. Mrs. Neha Verma then introduced the Chief Guest. Mrs. Suprabha Jadhav provided an overview of the e-Yantra initiative.
The first session focused on an introduction to the Fire Bird V robot, while the second session covered the introduction to the AVR Micro-Controller and its Programming Environment.
Two additional sessions were conducted. The first session addressed the topic of Simple Motion Control using I/O ports, and the second session delved into Robot Velocity control using Pulse Width Modulation.
Day 2 – 7th October 2023
On the subsequent day, the session commenced with an elucidation on LCD interfacing, followed by a discussion on the integration of analog sensors utilizing analog-to-digital conversion techniques. The segment encompassed interfacing with white line sensors and delved into the intricacies of interfacing with infrared range finder sensors.
The session proceeded to delve into the topic of interrupt programming within the context of closed-loop position control of robots, employing position encoders. The final portion of the day was dedicated to robot programming for white line tracking.
Subsequently, a comprehensive feedback and quiz session ensued. The day culminated with a valedictory ceremony, during which certificates and mementos were distributed. The proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the E-Yantra Coordinator.
In conclusion, the two-day event was marked by a series of informative sessions and practical demonstrations, providing attendees with valuable insights into various aspects of robotics and sensor interfacing. The well-organized program, encompassing topics ranging from LCD interfacing to advanced robot programming, underscored the commitment to excellence in education and skill development.
