Cleanliness Drive in Nearby Areas
Under the Campaign: Swachhata Hi Seva - EK TAREEKH, EK GHANTA, EK SAATH

NSS Units, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida participated in “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign on 1st October, 2023 from the college campus to Village Chuharpur Bangar under the guidance of Dr. Mamta Bhardwaj (NSS Programme officer) and showcased their commitment to a cleaner India.
The primary objective of “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign was to create a mass movement that fosters a sense of responsibility and ownership for cleanliness among citizens and to promote cleanliness, environmental awareness and community participation.
The event began with a briefing and planning session involving DGI NSS volunteers and coordinators. The participants were divided into teams and were assigned specific areas for clean-up. They were provided with gloves, trash bags and other necessary equipment for collecting garbage including plastic waste, paper waste and other debris. The students were seen carrying posters and placards to spread awareness about the importance of cleanliness and sanitation. The initiatives aimed to change people's mind-set and habits regarding waste disposal and cleanliness and to educate individuals about proper waste disposal, recycling, and sanitation practices. Lots of plastic materials were collected from nearby villages. The students also spoke to the villagers to create awareness against usage of plastics. The collected waste materials were disposed safely on the next day.
Volunteers have demonstrated great commitment and dedication to the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. The initiative not only improved the cleanliness of the nearby areas, but also instilled a sense of civic duty among the participants and the local community
