Faculty Skill Development Workshop on DRUPAL

FOSSEE Center of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized the Faculty Skill Development Workshop on DRUPAL which was conducted by IIT Bombay in association with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University(AKTU), Lucknow. The objective of the session was to spread awareness about Spoken Tutorial and Drupal in particular. Faculties from colleges affiliated to AKTU, RV Northland Institute, RV Northland Institute of Management, IIMT College of Engineering, Galgotias College, ITS Engineering College and Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida participated in the Workshop.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Ashish Soti, Hon’ble Director- Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. He emphasized on the importance of e-Learning resources and requested the participants to encourage students at their respective colleges to enroll, learn and get certified in various courses being offered through Spoken Tutorial.
Mr. Harshit Bhardwaj gave an overview of Spoken Tutorial Project. He explained FOSS( Free Open Source Software ) i.e., Drupal, SciLab, Latex, PHP & MySQL, Java, C/C++, LibreOffice etc. and compared their advantages with their commercial counterpart. Mr.Bhardwaj had recently attended the Faculty Induction Program at IIT Bombay conducted by Spoken Tutorial Team headed by Prof. Kannan M Moudgalya.
The technical session of Drupal was delivered by Mr. Manoj Yadav, Spoken Tutorial Coordinator, DGI. He explained the importance and features of Drupal. He explained how Drupal allows organizing, managing and publishing of content.
The practical session was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Pratish Kumar Jha (CSE) and Mr. Manish Kala (CSIT). Both of them were recently selected by IIT as Intern and were trained on different FOSSEE Projects during the residential program.
They guided the participants to understand the features and installation of DRUPAL.
The workshop concluded with the distribution of participation certificates.
Ms. Shanti Makka (HOD-CSE) extended Vote of Thanks. She expressed her appreciation to the participants for successfully attending and learning during the workshop. She requested them to share the knowledge gained from the workshop in the larger interest of the student community.
