Google ‘Developer Students Club’ Summit (DSC)
22 to 25 February 2018
Building on the momentum to create a pool of highly skilled tech workforce in India and giving the large Indian student community a head start on latest technologies like Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Mobile & Web Development, Google organized the ‘Developer Students Club’ Summit (DSC) in Goa during February 22 to 25, 2018.
The program was aimed at inspiring and training student ambassadors who would encourage students in their campuses to learn newer areas of technologies that will equip them with the right skill sets as they step out of colleges to join the workforce.
Pratish Kumar Jha, Google Developer Student Club Lead at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended the event. The inaugural batch saw 200 student ambassadors from 98 cities across 170 colleges in India attend the three-day event.
Day 1, 22nd February 2018
Speaking on the inauguration of ‘Developer Students Club Summit’, William Florance, Developer Products Group and Skilling Lead, Google, said, “In the last one year, we have engaged over half a million students and developers across India through a variety of programs and initiatives. To build on this momentum, and broaden access to world class technology curricula for students, we are delighted to launch the Developer Students Club summit today. These programs will make it easy for students and developers to gain the skills they need to be successful in the changing technology landscape.”
Deepak Sridhar (Program Manager, Google) headed the Networking Session. DSC leaders interacted with each other and shared their experience of being a DSC in their campus.
Day 2, 23rd February 2018
The session started with a welcome note by Ms. Vandana & Mr. Deepak Sridhar.
Mr. Anson Ben, during the session on “Persuasive Leader” suggested methods to motivate others to digitize individual. He also shared his experience on how to motivate students to be an android or web developer by conducting seminar & workshops. Later, various sessions on Design Thinking, Product Excellence, Careers in Tech with a focus on mobile or web were held.
In evening, there were few entertainment programs for participants.
Day 3, 24th February 2018

The day ended with a Panel Discussion on “Being a Community Lead”. The panelists were Karan Saxena, Chhavi Gupta, Karthik Ramakrishnan, and was moderated by Deepak Sridhar.
Day 4, 25th February 2018
The entire day was devoted to Project Presentation by each groups.
The students learned about various emerging technologies through a series of engaging sessions from experts from Google and industry and hands-on one-to-one mentoring activities.
The day ended with the Valedictory Session and thanks giving.
The DSC summit was in line with Google’s larger program of training two million developers in India. Last year, the company announced 130K scholarships for both working professionals and students community, that gives them access to new-age technology and an opportunity to gain skills they require to be successful in the changing technology landscape.
