Interactive Session On
Beat the Stress - Be Your Best

DGI SMILE Club organized an Interactive Session on " Beat the Stress - Be Your Best " on 9 February 2018, under the banner of NSS Wing of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. The objective of the session was to spread awareness on mental stress and its prevention.
The session was organized in association with the Richmond Fellowship Society (India), Delhi Branch and Mind Piper and was conducted by Ms. Sumita Bhadrige (Community Outreach Manager), Ms. Rashi Sinha (Innovation Manager) from Mind Piper and Mr.Kalimuddin from RFS Delhi Branch conducted the session.
Ms. Rashi Sinha demonstrated simple ways to understand stress. She said that some amount of stress is helpful for motivating a person to work in turn increasing excitement, and improving performance. Excessive stress, on the other hand, occurs when the demands made from a person exceeds the capacities of the person to fulfil them.
Ms Sumita Bhadrige discussed the causes of stress. She said that it could be due to internal or external changes, such as the diagnosis of a serious health problem, changing cities for further studies or staying away from one’s family and friends. Stress is experienced by everyone and eachone responds to it differently.
Ms Bhadrige focused on solutions to reduce stress. She suggested many healthy ways to do so i.e., spirituality, physical activity, a balanced diet, and sharing one’s issues with someone reliable.
Mr. Kalim Ullah gave a brief introduction about Richmond Fellowship Society (India) which provides psychosocial rehabilitation for the people suffering from mental illness particularly Schizophrenia and allied disorders. The aim is to rehabilitate patients suffering from mental illness and integrate them back with the family and community.
