QEEE Feedback Session on Phase VII

A Feedback Session of QEEE Coordinators was held on 14th July, 2017 in the ADI Seminar Hall at IIT Madras. It was aimed at gathering colleges’ views/comments about the Phase VII QEEE Program and to discuss about the new changes being made for the Phase VIII. Mr. Ashwani Kumar represented Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida in the Meet.
The Meeting started with the Welcome Note by Ms. Kavita Gopal, QEEE Coordinator – IITM, who welcomed all the coordinators and thanked them for sparing their time in order to attend the Feedback Session at IITM.
Ms. Akhila, Project Manager QEEE highlighted the QEEE - D2S progress at different centers.
Focus were put on the following discussions:
Course pack Rerun: It was suggested that the colleges can register for the courses which have already been completed in previous semesters. The registration process would remain the same, except for that the video lectures will be made available for viewing as per college’s own scheduling. It was also suggested that the TEQIP and Partner colleges can take up the responsibility of roping in nearby colleges and work as Nodal Center for them.
Prof. Venkatesh T.G., Faculty IIT Madrash, informed that to assist the Nodal Center in running the Course pack Rerun, a Faculty Training would be conducted for the five subjects chosen for QEEE Aug – Nov 2017. IIT Faculty would train the local faculty on pedagogy and content for select topics delivered in QEEE. Local faculty can further deliver the topics locally and conduct Proctored Quiz to complete the topic.
Ms. Akhila informed that “QEEE Minors” will be introduced in Phase VIII. QEEE topics will be grouped together to form a specialization or Minor and on completion of all the topics and a project, the student will be awarded a QEEE Minor certificate. The Project Based Learning will help the students understand their subjects better.
It was informed in the Meeting that from the forth coming session, Bridge Course is being replaced with Spark Courses. These sessions will be conducted by students who have successfully been managing their Start-Ups. These sessions have been planned so as to ignite the young minds. These sessions will deal with current industry trends, technologies, start-up experiences etc.
Ms. Akhila said that the IITM is planning to conduct Hackathon among QEEE Colleges. The formalities and structure is being worked upon.
A fortnightly Newsletter is also being planned by the QEEE Team which will be sent to all the registered participants. The Newsletter would contain latest developments in the field of Engineering & Technology as well as cover the events at IITs.
During a discussion on refundable deposit, it was said that it will be implemented as in the last semester and once the colleges successfully complete the courses, the same shall be refunded.
