Summer Training Program
                Integrated Automation Technologies
                3rd July – 15th July 2017

Summer Training Program on "Integrated Automation Technologies (Pneumatics, Electro-Pneumatics and PLC)" was conducted at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida during 3rd to 15th July, 2017. The Training Program was conducted by Mr. Gaurav Siwal, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department.
 Day 1: 3rd July 2017
The session started with registrations, Participants were then introduced and briefed about the schedule of the training. Basic topics like Components Identification, Symbol Study, Circuit Diagram and Compressors were covered on the first day.
 Day 2: 4th July 2017
On the next day, Mr. Gaurav explained Air Service Unit, Manifold, Double Acting and Single Acting Cylinders and their functions. He also explained Direction Control Valves like 3/2 normally Open Valve, 3/2 Normally Closed Valve, 5/2 Valves and Flow Control Valve.
 Day 3: 5th July 2017
On the third day basic pneumatic circuits using Direction Control Valves and Flow Control Valves were made. Their circuit diagrams were explained. Pressure Control Valve and Memory Circuit were also taught.
 Day 4: 6th July 2017
Training continued on the making of circuit diagrams and connections of Pressure Control Valve and Memory Valve. Participants were demonstrated the sequencing i.e. A+ B+ A- B- and condition of signal overlapping.
 Day 5: 7th July 2017
On the fifth day the session started with discussion on basics of Electro - Pneumatics, Electrical Control System, Relays and Solenoid Valves. Basic circuits and circuits diagram from Electro – pneumatics were studied.
 Day 6: 8th July 2017
Circuits of 5/2 Solenoid Valves with actuators were made on the sixth day. Electro - Pneumatic circuits for real world examples were discussed. Students made some of these circuits by using solenoid valves and actuators.
 Day 7: 10th July 2017
Problems on Direct and Indirect actuation of Cylinders, Latching, Dominant on, Dominant Off were discussed.
 Day 8: 11th July 2017
On the eighth day concept of Limit Switch was discussed. Later, participants were given problems based on Pneumatic and Electro Pneumatic for practice.
 Day 9: 12th July 2017
Proximity sensors like, Inductive Sensors, Capacitive Sensors and Photo Sensors were discussed. Circuit Diagrams and connections based on proximity sensors were studied.
 Day 10: 13th July 2017
On the tenth day the concept of PLC, Architecture of PLC and applications were discussed. Difference between Hardwired Control and PLC control were also studied.
 Day 11: 14th July 2017
Installation and connection of PLC to workstation, Port Settings and Ladder Programs based on AND logic and OR logic were discussed. Concept of signal at rising edge and falling edge were also studied.
 Day 12: 15th July 2017
On the final day of the workshop concept of timer and counter were explained. Industrial problems based on PLC were discussed. Students took keen interest in all the sessions of the training and developed some very good modules based on real life problems.
