World Culture Festival
17th February 2016
A one day Seminar on "World Culture Festival" was organized by Smile Club at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida on 17th February 2016. It was conducted by Mr. Avinash Tikku, an International Faculty of Art of Living organization.
The Art of Living organization was founded in 1981 by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. It is an educational and humanitarian movement engaged in stress - management and service initiatives. The organization operates globally in 155 countries and has touched the lives of over 370 million people. The programs are guided by Gurudev's philosophy of peace: "Unless we have a stress-free mind and a violence - free society, we cannot achieve world peace." To help individuals get rid of stress and experience inner peace, The Art of Living offers stress - elimination programs which include breathing techniques, meditation and yoga. These programs have helped millions around the world to overcome stress, depression and violent tendencies.
Prof. (Dr.) S K Bagga, Director, DGI welcomed Mr. Avinash Tikku. During his address, Mr. Tikku gave a brief about The World Culture Festival.
He said that "The World Culture Festival" will see an ocean of people coming from varied nationalities, religions, cultures, castes, colors to celebrate the true spirit of life. They will meditate, sing, dance and will send a strong message to the planet that time has come to bridge these gaps and unite as One World Family. It is a celebration of The Art of Living's 35 years of service, humanity, spirituality and human values. The festival will celebrate the diversity in cultures from across the world while simultaneously highlighting our unity as a human family. The World Culture Festival will bring world leaders and people together as one world family and celebrate peace. It will take place on March 11 - 13, 2016 in New Delhi, India.
The Art of Living has prominently worked towards giving people a platform to showcase their cultures. From orchestrating the biggest ensemble of bagpipe players to hosting the world's largest vegetarian buffet. The number of people who have enjoyed these events and supported them has only grown larger over the years. And some of these celebrations have been recognized by the Guinness World Records as remarkable feats.
Mr. Tikku motivated students to participate in the event to volunteer for their country in the event. The students enjoyed the session and were excited to participate as volunteers in The World Culture Festival. The program ended with vote of thanks by Ms. Priyanka Upadhyay, DGI Smile Club Member.
