Session on "How to plan the start-up and legal & Ethical steps"

With India’s G20 Presidency and Startup 20 initiative, India has seen a fresh wave of innovations and ventures. The Government of India is promoting Startup culture to make India economically and environmentally sustainable. India has become the third largest startup ecosystem in the world & is competing with all major economies. With this culture of startups it is also equally important to plan your ventures in a legal and ethical way. It is important to understand what are the laws and regulations that a startup has to comply with.
To make students aware of these legal and ethical steps for startups, the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a session on “How to plan the start-up and legal & ethical steps” under the guidance of Mr. Manish Sharma (Eltropy India Pvt. Ltd).
Mr. Manish Sharma explained how an idea or a concept leads to a startup. The idea is usually found by observations of real time problems, market trends & their solutions lead to a startup venture. Mr. Manish added that with the knowledge of planning a startup it is also important to know the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) required for establishment of a startup. He explained the importance of terms like Patent, Trademarks, Copyrights, Industrial Design and Geographic Indication. He later explained how IPR plays a vital role in building a startup. With this he also explained the ways to safeguard the IPR. He primarily focused on the importance of market research for ethically planning a startup and also explained the ways to approach it. He later told the importance of Patent Valuation & License and methods to achieve them. Later students asked their queries which were answered in detail by the keynote speaker.
The session ended with a vote of thanks from Prof Sanghamitra V Arora, IIC Convenor.
