Vishwavidyalaya Anusandhan Utsav - 2023

Department of Science and Technology (DST) hosted an event “Vishwavidyalaya Anusandhan Utsav-2023” on 24th April, 2023 at Dr. Ambedkar International Center, New Delhi to impart information about the I-STEM portal and facilitate the university/colleges who would receive the funding support from the first program. The event was attended by Innovation Ambassadors, IIC DGI, Prof. Sanghamitra V. Arora and Dr. Shailesh Kumar Singh along with 40 students from Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida.
Dr. Jitendra Singh (Minister of State - Independent Charge) was the chief guest of the event and addressed the inauguration ceremony. Dr Jitendra Singh said that in order to meet diverse challenges and strengthen the S&T infrastructure support system in the universities and other related academic institutions, the Department of Science and Technology (DST) nurtures and supports a variety of infrastructure related schemes like FIST, PURSE, SAIF, etc. towards augmenting/ facilitating the R&D equipment for research activities at various Universities/ Institutes and other Academic organizations as well as promote industry-academia linkages. The event was coordinated by Dr. Pratishtha Pandey, Head, R&D Infrastructure Division, DST, India.
Prof. S.K. Srivastava, IISC, Bangalore, provided a detailed explanation about the I-STEM portal and its importance to the researchers. The portal is a pool of advanced research instruments that can be utilized by any researcher of nearby area/zone as per availability and by paying a nominal amount.
Universities supported under the various programmes showcased their research accomplishments, novel findings, and technologies under the common platform for knowledge sharing provided by Vishwavidyalaya Anusandhan Utsav. A Book on the achievements of various universities supported under PURSE was also released.
