Technical talk on "Aspects of measurement and metrology
for Industry 4.0 and Mechatronics and its future prospects"

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a technical talk on “Aspects of measurement and metrology for Industry 4.0 and Mechatronics and its future prospects” on 20th April 2023. The distinguished guest for the session was Dr. Sanjay Yadav (Vice President of Metrology society of India and former chief scientist and head Physico Mechanical Metrology Division of CSIR-NPL, New Delhi.
The talk was attended by the students of ME, EEE and CSE Department. Mrs. Krati Hardya, Dr. Bishub Choudhury and Mr. Vishnu Kuntal were the coordinator of the event. The event was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Shailesh Kumar Singh (HOD, Mechanical Engineering)
The objective of the event was to provide a valuable insight of measurement and metrology in the domain of engineering with a focused on Industry 4.0 and Mechatronics
Overview of the talk:
- The prime focus of the event was to provide an introduction to Industry 4.0 and mechatronics for interdisciplinary studies, and to demonstrate how metrology can play a significant role in these fields.
- Sanjay Yadav stipulated an engaging discussion in which all domains of the subject are covered in a simple and serial way.
- The talk coverd an insightful elaboration on the role of metrology in future industrial aspects/revolution such as Industry 5.0, Industry 6.0, and future business trends.
Overall, it was an excellent opportunity for the students to learn the relevance of metrology from an industry and research standpoint, as well as to gain an understanding of how these fields are be integrated for the benefit of future mankind.
