Hybrid Vehicle Challenge
Buddha International Circuit Greater Noida
16th to 19th February, 2017
Asia’s largest Hybrid Vehicle Challenge was organized by Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIE) from 16th to 19th February 2017 at Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida. The objective of this event was to promote innovation and technology development.
42 teams from 18 different states as well as one team from Bangladesh participated in this event. Dronacharya Group of institutions Greater Noida played a vital role as Education Partner with ISIE - HVC Challenge. 40 students from different branches of DGI along with faculty coordinator Mr. Ankush Yadav, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering represented enthusiastically as volunteers during this event.
Day 1: 16 February 2017
Day 1 started with registration process of all teams along with team pit allocation. After registration, teams lined up their vehicles for inauguration. Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Bagga Director - Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida along with Mr. Vinod Kumar, Chairman - ISIE inaugurated the event. Inaugurating the event, Dr. Bagga said that such kind of events are very helpful for engineering students as it helps them to work on World Engineering Design projects and also provide team work opportunity He also said that there is lot of carrier opportunities in the field of hybrid vehicle sector.
Day 2: 17 February 2017
Day 2 started with technical inspection of all vehicles in which the teams were instructed to fabricate their vehicle according to Hybrid Vehicle Rule Book. Chief Guest Ms. Bani Yadav, India’s fastest woman driver, motor sports promoter interacted with the teams and discussed safety measures, fast driving techniques and technical aspects of the vehicle and the business plans of each team.
Day 3: 18 February 2017
On the third day inspection, testing of all vehicles for brakes, alignment, suspension and chassis test was done. All qualified teams were instructed to get their vehicle ready for the next day’s final racing event.
Day 4: 19 February 2017
On the Final Day before the race started, all vehicles were aligned with their drivers for endurance and economy test. After the tests were conducted all the vehicles were aligned on the racing track for the final 25 km race, consisting of 5 laps of 5 km each.
The team from VIT won the First Prize of INR 1 Lakh and Poornima College Jaipur won People Choice Award of INR 10 Thousand. Chairman ISIE congratulated all the participants and volunteers for successful completion of this mega event. He thanked Dronacharya Group of institutions for providing active voluntary support.
