Student Orientation Program on Entrepreneurship

National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) conducted “Student Orientation Program on Entrepreneurship” atDronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida on 16 Feb 2017. Ms. Sanya Singh Regional Manager, (North India), Wadhwani Foundation was the resource person. Prof. TPN Singh Advisor (R&D), Prof. T. Bothichandar, Dr. Aditi Paul and Mr. Sunil Kumar alongwith 20 students from CE, 06 students from ME, 10 students from ECE and 02 students from EEE participated.
Prof. TPN Singhdelivered the welcome address and a brief on Entrepreneurship. Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Bagga, Director exhorted the students to have an entrepreneurial mind set with a keen thoughtful process.
Ms. Sanya Singh covered the following topics during her presentation:
1. Help students understand what is Entrepreneurship
2. How Entrepreneurship has changed the world
3. How to start an E-cell / Why join an E-cell
4. Motivate students to start their own venture & share some success stories
5. How NEN can support them to become an Entrepreneur
6. Our various offerings & competitions such as Smart E, E-Week etc.
7. Access to our resource person / investor & mentors
8. Help E cells to host events at their own campus
9. How to advance their E-Cells
Ms. Sanya Singh further narrated success stories of young entrepreneurs like Phanindra Sama of Red Hat, Sachin Bansal of Flip Cart, Shashank ND of Practo Health Care System and Deepinder Goyal of Zomato. She highlighted the achievements of Dr. Romesh Wadhwani,Serial Entrepreneur and founder of Wadhwani Foundation. She said that these achievers had the following traits:
1. Risk takers
2. Visionaries
3. Innovators
4. Trend setters
Talking about NEN, Ms. Sanya Singh said that it has been building an Entrepreneurial Eco System in academia to help create entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial leaders. NEN offers values in the domains of knowledge, networking, brand value, placement and resources. The students can acquire skills in the areas of creativity and critical thinking, innovation, communication, leadership, teambuilding etc. NEN has developed one learning app called “Learnwise” which the students must go through as it is self-learning. It is a do it yourself course. E-week is also being organized in Sep 2017 wherein all networked institutions shall be participating. PM Yuva program has been signed with Govt. of India for entrepreneurial activities. The students were motivated to participate in these programs.
After the Orientation Program, Ms. Sanya Singh held a meeting with ED Cell Coordinators and discussed various issues on entrepreneurship namely student coordinators, activities conducted and start - up programs.
The program came to an end at 03:30 pm.
