Exposure Visit to Haier Appliances India Pvt. Limited

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE) and ISTE Student Chapter, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized an Exposure Visit to “Haier Appliances India Pvt. Limited” on 30th January, 2024. B.tech 2nd Year Students went to the visit along with faculty coordinator Dr. Deepak Kumar. This visit aimed to provide students with hands-on exposure to the operations, technology, and processes in a modern manufacturing environment.
The students were welcomed by the Haier team, who gave a comprehensive overview of the company’s history, growth in the Indian market, and their contribution to the home appliances sector. The visit commenced with a tour of the manufacturing facility, where the students observed the various stages of production, including assembly lines, quality control mechanisms, and packaging processes. The plant tour offered them valuable insights into automation technologies and lean manufacturing techniques used to optimize efficiency. The Haier team demonstrated how the use of cutting-edge machinery and adherence to international standards ensured the production of high-quality appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners.
In addition to observing the technical operations, students were given the opportunity to interact with Haier’s engineers and management, who explained the importance of research and development (R&D) in maintaining competitiveness. This discussion encouraged students to think critically about product innovation, energy efficiency, and the role of engineers in shaping future technologies.
The visit concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students sought advice on career opportunities in the manufacturing sector and the skills required to excel in such a dynamic industry. The industrial visit to Haier was an enriching experience that offered students an in-depth understanding of the company's products, manufacturing processes, and commitment to excellence.
