22 September, 2017
Mr. Rahul Kaushik, B.Tech CSE Batch 2004 - 2008, alumnus of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon visited DGI, Greater Noida on September 22, 2017 to deliver a Lecture on ‘Bridging the Gap between Academia and Corporate’.
Mr. Rahul Kaushik is working as a Product Developer with DXC Technologies. He has been invited as a motivational speaker and to conduct writing workshops at prestigious institutes like IIT Bombay, VIT Chennai, Thapar University Patiala, and others.
The session at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida started at 12:45 PM, with B.Tech first year students. Rahul shared his own experience as a first year student. He told that the starting journey was very turbulent and there was a feeling of breaking the boundaries and live an independent life, just like the feeling, present first year has. There were not many people to guide in those years. But today’s generation is very lucky to have people around and counsel at every stage. He told the students that his school background has always been in Hindi medium and he faced lot of problems juggling up with the English medium culture in college. But that did not deter him from trying and today he writes his micro fictions in English. He worked very hard, read newspapers, magazines and correlated to his text books which helped him to score better in exams as well.
Mr. Rahul said that hard work, conviction and passion are the micro particles that bind one's career growth. He encouraged the students to start speaking in English which would eventually help them in the coming 4 years. He said that learning can be done from anyone in the world and its always important to have an intent to learn. He further advised students to follow two important mantras in life. First is to have a dream and second is not to be pulled down by negative people and negative thoughts.
Mr. Kaushik also counselled them about the deadly 'Blue Whale Challenge' game that is going viral and targeting age group of 16 - 20 yrs. He shared his own dreams with the kids and also asked them to share their dreams with him.
While concluding the session, he asked the students to keep working hard and focus on the vision.
The session ended with the presentation of Memento to Mr. Rahul Kaushik by Hon'ble Director, Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Soti.
